Just a heads up that the City of Sydney will be calling for expressions of interest (EOI) for cultural organisations, creative enterprises, artists, creative practitioners and collectives to apply for various short term (six months to one year) leases of 2 retail shopfronts and 10 office suites on Oxford Street inDarlinghurst.

Keep an eye on the City’s EOI page on their website, with an announcement expected in early October.

The property types available are:

  •  2 x Creative retail incubator space for one or multiple artisans and emerging bespoke retailers. Potential uses could include ‚jewellery, decorative/paper art, bespoke hand crafts, zine/independant boutique book store etc.
  •  10 x office suites located at level 1 & 2, 66 Oxford St, for use as artist work and creative incubator space. These spaces are being targeted at small creative enterprises, artists, writers and creative practitioners to practice, work and collaborate.

Spaces will be leased at a subsidised rate to the successful applicants. With open inspections for the properties to be arranged in mid October and an information session for the potential applicants to be held after the inspection. Further details will be available in the EOI advertisement and documentation when they are released.

The EOI will also appear in the Local Government section of the Sydney Morning Herald and the Daily Telegraph, on Arts Hub and online in early October 2011. We’ll be blogging. tweeting and facebooking about it too.

Now all you need to do is start dreaming about great ways to use one of these spaces!
